Remodeling our old house also brought tremendous changes to the entire property – not many areas escaped the mechanized tracks of heavy-equipment scraping, digging and trenching the earth. It will take the coming seasons to ‘put-right’ all that we have done. For now, the image above is a harsh and sad reminder of what destruction in the name of change can bring.

Where I rest my head at the end of the day embodies a physical place of refuge, but this place of refuge doesn’t feel like “home.” The closest thing I have to HOME is the notion that I’m ‘at home with myself’… I mean to say, I am my home, and my home is me.
